We go often to this region of Portugal as we have family very close to Belver in Ortiga a village close by. However as we are visiting family it’s not often that we venture and visit the area as much as we would like. But this time we asked everyone to join us on a day trip to Belver to visit the castle, the museum and maybe check out Alamal trail as we are very curious about it given that it’s surely one of Portugal’s best trails. The trail unfortunately was in bad shape due to the fires of the summer and the heavy rain of the last couple of weeks but still we managed to see the town and the museum and we were pleasantly surprised by the place and the people we met. Belver get’s a big thumbs up.
